I want to thank Marilyn and Howard Gay for organizing our DRS evening at Chambrel on Saturday, March 20th.  March is the national Play-the-Recorder month and we celebrated the national Play-the-Recorder day with the inspirational recorder players led by Marilyn and Howard at Chambrel. Thank you to all of you who were able to attend and made this such a festive and enjoyable evening of music making! (Picture below taken by Doane Fessenden.)

After many years of service as the Music Director of the DRS, Bill Patterson will be stepping down after August’s chapter meeting.  The DRS extends its heart-felt gratitude for all of Bill’s dedication and many hours of preparation given to sustaining our chapter. Thank you, Bill!!

Jennifer Carpenter will begin serving as the Music Director of the DRS beginning in September. She looks forward to working with everyone this coming season! You may read her bio here.

Starting in October, the DRS hopes to begin each meeting with a short program (15-20 minutes) performed by local area DRS members, member groups, or other area performing ensembles associated with members of the DRS.

We thank the recorder trio Rio Brazos with Karen Ferrer, Alice Derbyshire and Peggy Turner for opening our October meeting!

If you perform with a group of players or have some solo material you would like to present, please contact Jennifer at jlcarpenter1@gmail.com so that we can get you scheduled! This is an opportunity to perform in a friendly, low-key environment where everyone is in support of you!
